Once a pending address, cell phone, direct deposit, or federal W4 change has been processed, the integration must notify WFH that the event has been processed using the Acknowledge ESS Change endpoint. Pass the pending change event’s changeID as the endpoint call parameter. Failure to acknowledge a pending change will mean that the integration will get the same change the next time the Get ESS Pending Changes endpoint is called.
Acknowledging a new hire pending change when you have an external system of record is different. Once you receive the new hire change notification, you need to create the Employee in the external system and sync the Employee back to system. This links the payroll system employee id to the WFH employee and removes the pending change from the queue. See Handling New Hire Round-Tripping
